Day One

Arrive at the farmhouse late afternoon and acquaint yourself with the house and grounds. There are plenty of places en-route where you can stop off and get supplies or we can advise you where to shop locally for first night food.

A BBQ might be the perfect idea for a relaxing evening at The Farmhouse. The BBQ is in the pool house along with a large table and seating for your group.

Perhaps there will be time for a swim in the heated pool before you eat, maybe a game of badminton on the playing field or a short walk to stretch those travelled legs. The private swimming pool is centre stage surrounded by trees

Dusk will fall as laughter and merriment fill the air. and you notice that the lights have come on around the pergola that is attached to the Farmhouse.

Day Two

Wake to the sounds of the birds and the peace and quiet of the countryside. Drive down to the Boulangerie in Montaigu de Quercy, five minutes away, for a butter croissant or pain au chocolate, don't forget fresh bread for the day!

Head to Penne d' agenais; this characterful village has an amazing basilica at the top, its silver dome visible from afar. Find out about the history and Richard the Lionheart.

Book a table for lunch in the bistro at Le Stelsia, there is a spa here too. Le Stelsia is a new take on a chateau! . The latter affords an easy journey to the river Lot where you can hire a boat for 6 people or one for 12 people. These self drive boats give you a couple of hours messing about on the river.

Back at the Farmhouse enjoy bread, cheese and a good glass of wine under the pergola on the patio.

Day Three

Wednesday is market day in Cahors. It doesn’t matter when you visit there is always a market somewhere! Cahors is pretty special with the famous bridge, Pont Valentré, here you will see the shells of the pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela.

There are two markets in Cahors one in the central square for clothes, hats, linens and such like and then there is the food market which is on the other side of the road, the small roads open up to another square filled with food stalls. Wander the streets and have coffee. There are many places for lunch we like a croque monsier at Bistro de Lisa.

Make your way back to The Farmhouse through the vineyards of the Lot and stop at one or two to taste the famous malbec wine. We have several places to recommend. Chateau Chambert has tours of its organic vineyards, these can be booked in advance.

Complete your wine knowledge with a "Tasting The Lot" experience back at The Farmhouse. Lucinda will come to the house and guide you through a selection of different wines and how they can be paired with food.

On a three night stay day 4 will be your departure day…unless you decide to stay longer! There are of course lots of other ideas of things that you can do during your holiday. When you book a short break we will be more than happy to help you to work out an itinerary for your holiday dependant of course on your groups interests and needs. This itinerary was based upon an adult group visiting in June.
